Guide to Kolkata (CCU) Airport Lounges

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU), known locally as ‘Kolkata Airport’ and ‘Dum Dum Airport,’ was renamed in 1995 after a celebrated leader of the Indian Independence movement, Subhas Chandra Bose.

First opened in 1924, Kolkata Airport holds the distinction of being one of the oldest airports in India. Spanning an area of 6.64 square kilometres (2.56 square miles), it is the largest air traffic hub in the eastern part of the country, and thus plays a critical role in connecting the region to international and domestic destinations.

Kolkata Airport features four lounges, all operated by Travel Club.

This guide will provide an overview of the various features, amenities and access options for each lounge.

List of Lounges in Kolkata Airport

The airport lounges at Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport are operated under the Travel Club brand, which are managed by Travel Food Services (TFS).

Founded in 2009, TFS has become a prominent name in India's travel sector. The company oversees a variety of airport lounges, restaurants, and retail outlets across major airports nationwide.

There are four lounges at Kolkata Airport, all under the same name. This guide covers these lounges in the same order:

  • Travel Club Lounge (Terminal 1, Domestic)

  • Travel Club Lounge Annex (Terminal 1, Domestic)

  • Travel Club Lounge (Terminal 2, International - Above Bishwa Bangla)

  • Travel Club Lounge (Terminal 2, International - Gate 10)

Important Note About Terminal Names

If you're traveling through Kolkata Airport or researching it, you may encounter conflicting information about whether the airport operates as a single Terminal or has two separate Terminals.

Here’s what you need to know:

The original Terminal 1 and 2 were decommissioned in 2013 and replaced with a single integrated Terminal, officially known as Terminal 2 (T2). This Terminal handles both domestic and international flights under one roof. However, the airport continues to use the older terminology for its domestic and international areas within T2:

  • Terminal 1 (Domestic): Refers to the domestic flight section of the integrated Terminal.

  • Terminal 2 (International): Refers to the international flight section of the same building.

This naming convention likely remains for ease of reference or out of tradition, but it can easily create confusion. There is just one Terminal building—you’ll simply need to head to the domestic or international section depending on your flight type.
